PROBLEM

Moving to a new country can be overwhelming, especially when trying to adapt to local grocery stores that may not carry familiar international ingredients. This disconnect often leads to inconvenience and dissatisfaction among expatriates and immigrants.

INSIGHT

Many international users desire to maintain their culinary traditions and dietary habits but struggle to find essential ingredients or suitable substitutes due to language barriers and unfamiliarity with local products.

SOLUTION

"TasteMatch" provides a practical solution by offering an intuitive application that assists users in identifying and sourcing specific ingredients, comparing product options, leveraging discounts through customized coupons, and facilitating secure and efficient payments. By combining these functionalities, "TasteMatch" enhances the shopping experience for international users, ensuring they can easily discover and purchase the ingredients necessary to recreate authentic flavors and dishes from their home countries.

For the research phase, I conducted a total of 15 interviews aimed at gaining deeper insights into the challenges and difficulties faced by new immigrant users when shopping in an unfamiliar country.


42% of users said they did not know how to use supermarket vouchers.
50% of users say they don't 1know the types of food and ingredients in the supermarket.
83% of users said they did not know how to find alternatives to their favorite foods.

They encounter difficulties in discovering suitable alternatives that align with the tastes and cooking styles they are accustomed to from their home country.

International users encounter considerable difficulty in identifying discounted products and securing the best deals due to language barriers and an unfamiliarity with the pricing system and promotional offers in grocery stores within their new country.

An all-in-one shopping list app for international users, creating lists from daily recipes and suggesting alternative products with similar flavors from nearby stores.

This app facilitates users in sharing and discovering grocery store locations. Users can scan and explore food products within selected stores, accessing detailed information to make informed purchasing decisions.

The app streamlines the payment process, allowing users to pay seamlessly through personalized QR codes, offering both convenience and time savings at the checkout.

TasteMatch provides coupon match feature to maximize discount for users,Users can benefit from this feature by effortlessly discovering and applying relevant discounts during their shopping journey.

Over 90% of participants believe that the app effectively helps to improve the supermarket shopping experience.

High satisfaction rates suggest that the app is meeting the expectations and needs of the majority of its users.
